Hon James Gyakye Quayson

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ghana

Honourable James Gyakye Quayson serves as Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, where he advances President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of a principled and people-centred foreign policy. His leadership strengthens Ghana’s influence on the global stage while ensuring that diplomacy delivers real benefits for citizens and businesses.

A graduate of Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast, Ghana and York University, Toronto, Ontario Canada. Hon. Quayson built a distinguished career in Canada’s social services and Community development sector before returning to Ghana to serve his people. Elected as Member of Parliament for Assin North on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, most recently reaffirmed in 2024, he has served on key parliamentary committees, including Local Government, Economy and Development and Security & Intelligence.

HE Doris Adzo Denyo Brese

High Commissioner of Ghana to Australia

The High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the Commonwealth of Australia, Ms. Doris Brese, is a career diplomat with almost thirty years of experience in Ghana’s diplomatic service.

High Commissioner Brese first joined Ghana’s diplomatic service in 1997 and rose through the ranks from Assistant Director to Director in 2013. She has served in many Bureaux of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Information, Culture and Linguistics, Administration, Estates and General Services, International Organisations & Conferences, and Europe. High Commissioner Brese has also served in Ghana’s Missions in Ottawa, Belgrade, The Hague, and Seoul.

In 2023, she was appointed Ghana’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, and Macedonia.

Ms. Brese currently serves as Ghana’s High Commissioner to the Commonwealth of Australia. She was appointed on 19th November 2025 by the President of the Republic of Ghana, HE. John Dramani Mahama, and presented her Letters of Credence to the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, on 10th December 2025.

Maame Efua Houadjeto is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority. Before her appointment in 2025, she served as CEO of Image Consortium Group and as Managing Director and Creative Director of IE Design. She was also General Manager of MPlaza Hotel, bringing extensive experience in tourism, hospitality, and creative enterprise.

In her role at GTA she is focused on strengthening industry collaboration and advocating for sustainable tourism initiatives that raise Ghana’s profile as a premier travel destination.

Alex Sanderson is a proud Wiradjuri man, Indigenous business leader, and multi-industry entrepreneur who is passionate about advancing First Nations economic empowerment through business and innovation. He is the founder and former President of the UNSW First Nations Business Society, Australia’s first university-based business society dedicated exclusively to First Nations students, and has worked extensively with industry, government, and educational institutions to strengthen Indigenous entrepreneurship and leadership pathways.
